Pre-Purchase Asbestos Surveys

Do I need an asbestos survey to purchase a property?

 

You might need a pre-purchase asbestos survey if you are buying a building that was built prior to 2000. 

With more and more Building Surveyors highlighting potential asbestos containing materials within their reports it is aparent that lenders may not lend without an asbestos survey being undertaken.

Our surveyors are fully qualified and have more than 18 years experience. If the property you are considering buying needs an asbestos survey, we will:

  • Conduct a thorough, non intrusive survey (no damage is caused) to the property taking samples of any suspect materials.

  • Establish the presence of any asbestos containing materials which could be damaged or disturbed during standard occupancy, including maintenance.

  • Assess the condition of any ACM.

  • Produce a complete risk assessment report which has advice about how to manage the asbestos if we find it.
